As I was thinking today and listening to some Iron Bell Music, I have come across a question - “How do I let go of all that I’ve created in my life to receive everything that you, God, have planned for me?”
1 Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives. 2 Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God. 3 But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. 4 Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord— rejoice in his presence! 5 Father to the fatherless, defender of widows— this is God, whose dwelling is holy. 6 God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
Today I hope that you can lean in close, I hope that you can quiet your busy heart, I hope that you can turn to the God who is above everything that we’ve created in this life for our enjoyment. I hope that you will know that God is able to clean out the garbage and fill your life with an amazing gift.
20 My old self has been crucified with Christ.[a] It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Sy Rogers (if you don't know who he is... you might want to youtube his testimony)
-God would rather have you messy than not have you at all. Sure, God will take you like you are, but He will take you further. There’s a big difference between what you think you know about God versus an experience with Him.
Change is not your goal—that’s an inevitable byproduct of growth. Growing in God is your great goal. As you grow things can change.... will you let God in... will you simply let God!
Will you allow the space for God to change you?
What does believing in the process of being made new each day produce? What does it mean to have faith and what does it produce in our lives...
Think about this: "we trust in, and have confidence in God’s character and capability above our own. Faith says that one day my loyalty, obedience, repentance, falling away, crawling back, humility to God will be vindicated. One day I’ll know the rest of the story that eludes me now. One day I will see Jesus face to face... Therefore I deliberately (did you hear that) deliberately choose to continue to be confident in God’s character and capability- in spite of unjust circumstances and painful challenges that provoke me to question and doubt and willfully sin in the presence of my redeemer and friend. (before you criticize me and through me out as false teacher - don't forget to study Paul's writing on the sin that is in me - Romans)
The lingering question...
But if you’re like me - I still have this lingering question - How do I let go… better yet… Why don’t I let go? I’m not sure what I’m afraid of… why I’m so concerned with the stuff of this world… but I am. I’m living between dark and light. I’m fighting for things I don’t even want! I’m chasing after dreams that are empty… Father - help me chase after YOU!
1 John 4:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
My prayer for you today is that you can experience and that you will PURSUE GOD with an undivided heart. I pray that we together can be set free in the love and grace of our God. I pray that we will let fear go and fall into love with a God who wants the very best for you. I pray that you will join me in the PURSUIT of being a disciple and not just a person who “goes to church”.
God has placed us in a amazing family - he sets us free - he binds up our wounds - maybe today we will take a moment and let God teach us and challenge us to LET GO and GRAB ON TO HIS PLAN and HIS WAY. God bless you and lean in close today!
