Kitty Perkinson
Pastor of Pastoral Care & Director of Women's Ministries
Meet Kitty
Hi, I'm Kitty, and I oversee our Pastoral Care Teams & Women's Ministries here at First Christian Church of Scottsburg. I am a wife, mother of 4 adult daughters, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, 4 son's-in-law and 6 grandchildren-in-law.
Being involved in ministry on a day to day basis; is an answer to prayer from many years ago. I prayed for opportunities to minister to hurting women, and after a 32 year career in conservation engineering, that prayer was answered. Even though I had ample opportunity to minister to women in the workplace, I now do it daily. God never forgets when we are sincere in praying. So be careful what you pray for, you may just get it. I love people and hearing their stories. I enjoy being an encourager to others and helping others in any way I can. Jesus and Church has been a part my life, all of my life, in a variety of ways.
We have many opportunities for women in the Women's Ministry, bible studies, retreats, seminars, events engaging women and girls of all ages. If you are a widow, we have Widow's Luncheon once a month. If you are in a grief situation, we have a Moving Forward group that meets every Tuesday night. If you have young girls and want to mentor and guide them, we have Sister's of Spirit (SOS) once a month. If you are one who likes to sew, we have a monthly His Hands group of ladies. If you are an encourager, get involved in the Prayer Pillow group. Have I got an opportunity for you!
