• WHO IS JESUS?

Explore 3 simple things everybody should know about Jesus below...

  • JESUS LOVES YOU

John 3:16-17 New Living Translation (NLT)

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

Often we disqualify ourselves from God’s love because of our history, our failures, and shortcomings. The problem is that sin has separated us from God and we can never make up for sin through self-improvement or good works (Isaiah 59:2). So how can we accept what we haven’t earned?

The Bible says that nothing in all of creation can separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38). And to accept God’s love is to trust His patient, forgiving and gracious stance towards us. Only He has the power to free us from guilt, shame and condemnation to give us a life of wholeness. All we have to do is turn to Him.

  • JESUS DIED FOR YOU

Galatians 3:26-29 New Living Translation (NLT)

26 For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. 28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.

Jesus didn’t come to make bad people become good, but to make dead people become alive. The fact is: No single person is so good, so pure, or so clean that they can escape the consequence of sin (Romans 3:23). That's what Jesus does for us... He gives us a way back to God and out of our sin.

Jesus is the perfect representation of God’s character, because He was God coming on a rescue mission to earth to snatch us from death (Colossians 1:13). The Lord of Lords didn’t come to be served like a king, but to serve His people and give up His own, innocent life in order to buy our freedom from death (Mark 10:45). He became the RISEN KING that is providing us with a new way to live in a Kingdom.

Jesus’ death on the crude, primitive torture device of a cross was designed for a convicted murderer—not the Son of God. Still, He endured the pain, the mocking, and the agony of a criminal, to give us a choice to go free from that conviction and be at peace with God (Colossians 1:19-21).

  • JESUS GIVES YOU A NEW LIFE

Romans 8:1-2 New Living Translation (NLT)

8 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

This is where it all comes full circle… God loves you, and did all of that for you, but He leaves you the choice: Do you want to accept that love, or do you want to walk away? To have a whole and lasting life, or to be saved, is to submit to God and his plan and purpose for our lives. It is a turning from our old ways and turning to a relationship with Jesus, to ask him for forgiveness from our sins, and to give us new life in Him.

In the Book of Acts, Jesus’ disciple and friend, Peter, stood up in front of a huge crowd of people and explained everything that Jesus had done for them. Their response: “So now what do we do?” So Peter broke it down for them.

Change your life. Turn to God and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so your sins are forgiven. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is targeted to you and your children, but also to all who are far away—whomever, in fact, our Master God invites.” (Acts 2:38, MSG)

Salvation is God’s free gift offered to you, to your family, and to ALL PEOPLE. By accepting it we become God’s own children. It’s an adoption that empowers you to live life wholly and fully with the purpose of reflecting God to the rest of His creation. Our new life and adoption into God's family gives us a reason to celebrate and share what God has done for us.
